Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school, seeks part-time PM Shuttle Monitor/Extended Day Assistant at the DC and Bethesda, MD campus.The PM Shuttle Monitor/Extended Day Assistant is primarily responsible for supervising elementary students on the campus shuttle from the Lower School in Bethesda to the DC Campus and back (3-4:15 PM, 2-3:00 PM Tuesdays) and will also join the extended day program as a staff assistant at the conclusion of shuttle service.
Key Responsibilities:
On the shuttle, it is the responsibility of the monitor to:
- Mark attendance on clipboard and cross reference missing students with Nurse Wheeler.
- Escort students safely onto the shuttle bus.
- Ensure all students are seated and engaged in safe activities for the duration of the ride
- Check to make sure students are in their correct seating arrangements
- As students leave the shuttle on the DC campus, check for trash and students to ensure the shuttle is empty and ready for the next students to board and mark that bus is clear on the shuttle log.
- Check Middle and upper students in on attendance sheet
- Ensure all students are seated and engaged in safe activities for the duration of the ride
- Check to make sure students are in their correct seating arrangements
- As students leave the shuttle on the MD campus, check for trash and students to ensure the shuttle is empty and ready to return to Coughlin.
- Mark that bus is clear on the shuttle log.
- Other duties as assigned by Auxiliary Programs Bethesda Campus Coordinator.
As an extended day Staff Assistant, you will be actively engaging children with crafts, games, projects, and other activities. As well, you will be supervising both indoor and outdoor sports, helping with homework, and overall, creating a positive educational environment in which our children can thrive. After School and Enrichment Staff Assistants support the organization and implementation of both the After School program and the Enrichment Program.
Qualifications:
Requirements: Must be at least 18 and have experience supervising children preferably in a camp or after school setting.
Hours: 2:45pm - 6:00 P.M. & Tuesdays 1:30 - 6:00 P.M. Flexible days/hours. Pay is hourly based on experience.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate $18.00-$24.00. Hourly rate commensurate with experience and qualifications.
