JOB SUMMARY: Assists workers engaged in fabrication of forged products by performing a combination of tasks to support forging crew and the production of parts defined by customer orders.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements
- Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to a supervisor
- Promote and comply with good safety practices and habits, including but not limited to, use of all PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working
- Attentive and awareness of surroundings that include forklifts and industrial trucks
- Lifting of heavy tooling used during maintenance process
- Lifts machine tools to bolt in place, using hoist and wrenches
- Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely daily work logs, equipment maintenance records, and other documents as required
- Assists in keeping equipment and working area clean and orderly
- Communicate with internal customers, fellow associates, supervisors and management as required
- Receives instructions covering the preventing maintenance or emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be done.
- Inspects production equipment including forklifts for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
- Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
- Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment such as gear boxes, pumps, line shafts, drive shafts, conveyor, fans, blowers, hydraulic cylinders, air cylinders, hydraulic motors, air motors, hydraulic or air valves, etc.
- Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, couplings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits.
- Adjust equipment for proper operating characteristics.
- Use calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices to ensure smooth assembly of equipment.
- Lubricates equipment according to the established practice.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Receives instructions and prints regarding work assignment.
- Interprets drawings and sketches, plans details of working procedure, and decides on tools and materials required.
- Obtains parts, material or supplies.
- Performs other tasks as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required, Technical or professional certification preferred and/or completion of an appropriated apprenticeship program
- Basic math skills and weight calculations
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid forklift certification as required
- Proven engagement in safety requirements
- Ability to work in a non-temperature controlled environment, with exposure to dust and fumes
- Basic skills in reading and understanding manufacturing documents, such as POs and work instructions in English
- Ability to follow standard machine operating procedures
- Ability to measure parts using standard measuring devices, including a tape measure
- Ability to record and enter operations data as required
- Ability to follow preventative maintenance process
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and take initiative to correct or seek immediate assistance.

- Sense of urgency and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of simultaneous projects
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time

- Must be able to successfully pass a written assessment including basic math, mechanical aptitude and general industrial knowledge
- Must be able to successfully pass a hand on practical test with senior leadership, demonstrating your abilities to perform the job successfully

- Ability to follow direction and understand the need to keep a clean work station
- Ability and knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulics repairs is expected.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of industrial experience as a journeyman multi-craft mechanic
- Experience and training repairing and troubleshooting hydraulic equipment such as cylinders, pumps, valves
- Certification to perform structural welding repair
- Experience working with maintenance management software systems, such as filling out work order details, creating new work orders.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures, PMS, and repairs
- Experience driving a forklift
- Blueprint reading
- Ability to work any shift
- Forklift , confined space, hot work, LOTTO, and overhead crane experience a plus
