About This Job
The Tax Senior position is responsible for overseeing the quarterly income tax provision as well as the annual tax compliance process. Additional work will take the form of a wide variety of internal projects where the candidate will provide analytical tax and strategic support to lending relationships and corporate transactions. Duties can include researching corporate federal, state and foreign tax regulations, supporting continuous improvements in processes, responding to tax audits and notices, periodic tax financial reports to external and internal users of the Company’s financial information, maintenance of an adequate system of tax reporting controls and procedures designed to mitigate risk, and development of tax models for the Company’s strategic initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions and deferred tax workbooks
- Maintain tax tracking system and provide periodic updates to management
- Prepare federal, state, and foreign corporate income tax returns and manage external vendor throughout the preparation process
- Identify opportunities for strategic tax initiatives and present business case to management
- Assist with department goals, automation, and efficiency projects, and assist business units with understanding tax impacts
- Prepare income tax white papers for technical accounting matters to support positions taken and educate auditors
- Assist independent public accounting auditors, regulators and internal auditors with understanding tax internal control process and tax schedules as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Accounting or Fiinance
- 2+ years of experience in the tax function of a publicly traded company or in a public accounting firm
- Advanced MS Office Suite experience
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently, think critically, and execute well in a fast-paced environment
- Effective and experienced communication and collaboration skills with colleagues in and outside the Accounting and Finance team
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
- Strong analytical skills
