Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Wheatland Tube seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to manage all quality and technical activities of the Blytheville, Ar. Plant. This person will work with other Quality Assurance Managers to ensure implementation and maintenance of a consistent quality system throughout Wheatland Tube and will report to the Director of Quality Assurance and Technical Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, quality audits/review, process engineering, etc.
Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations.
Supervises Quality Assurance personnel at the facility.
Manages the lab activities for the facility.
Manage daily conformance to existing quality system and drive continuous improvement activities.
Manages plant trials and other activities affecting product quality; including coating, steel and other activities.
Manage the ISO quality management system.
Manages the gage calibration program for the facility.
Tracks and resolves steel quality issues and works with purchasing and peers to support vendor evaluation programs.
Provides product and technical support for sales, customer service, agents and customers.
Customer visits as required for claim follow up as well as proactive visits.
Support other Wheatland Tube facilities as directed by the Director of Technical Services and Quality Assurance.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required. 5+ years of previous quality assurance experience required.
ISO 9001 experience required.
Experience working with pipe coatings, heat treatment and pipe finishing.
Previously experience managing people.
NDE experience required.
Strong knowledge of production policies, procedures, and safety measures.
Must have excellent:
Leadership, planning, management, and motivational skills.
Analytical, observational, and troubleshooting skills.
