The ideal candidate will be an upcoming, or recent graduate (within 12 months), from an accredited ADN or BSN program, and be a licensed RN in the state of Texas one week prior to the assigned program start date. Start date will be October 21, 2024.
This position will work day shift between the hours of 7am-5pm, and is a hybrid role (remote and onsite).

• 12-month RN residency program that trains new grads in the specialty role of a research nurse.
Research nursing is a specialty nursing practice focused on the care of research participants and the management of clinical trials. The role combines clinical and administrative functions and places the nurse at the forefront of cutting edge cancer treatment development.
As a research nurse, the new graduate will coordinate, evaluate and follow patient participation in clinical trials while facilitating compliance to the research protocol and good clinical practice. Specific tasks associated with the role include participant recruitment and screening, patient assessment, coordination of protocol specific activity including treatment and tests, toxicity evaluation, collection of trial data and patient and family education.
• Residents must successfully complete the program which is a comprehensive, education program.
Clinical Experience: As a graduate nurse in the program, you will collaborate with clinical nursing instructors, clinical coaches and nurse managers to design a personalized pathway for your clinical development. Throughout the program, you will take part in MD Anderson’s clinical nursing orientation and oncology-specialty orientation specific to assigned units.
Clinical Leadership and Socialization: Those chosen for the program will be provided paid education days each month for classes and activities. One-on-one meetings are scheduled throughout the program to monitor progress and provide additional individualized support. Opportunities will be provided to create and enhance professional networks and relationships with peers and the nursing leadership team.

EDUCATION
Required:
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Required:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
