Cetera Financial Group is currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal. This is a unique opportunity to join a legal team of highly experienced internal and external lawyers handling FINRA arbitrations, litigations, and regulatory matters affecting the company. What you will do:
Principal Responsibilities:
Support internal and external attorneys in all facets of arbitration and litigation
Maintain litigation files using electronic case management systems
Work with insurance carriers on billing and claim notices
Work with employees in various departments and outside companies to obtain relevant case information
Review and process vendor invoices using an electronic billing system
Organize documents and coordinate document productions
Conduct document searches and factual research
Draft legal memoranda including litigation holds
Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings and discovering requests/responses
Prepare exhibits and hearing binders for arbitrations and trials
Act as liaison among various internal departments and outside counsel
Provide administrative support to attorneys including calendar and travel management
Respond to requests for information
Other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel (spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat
Knowledge of Legal Tracker is a plus
Knowledge of Westlaw or similar research tools is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
Team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic
Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
Ability to analyze complex information requests
What is nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Paralegal Certification
Prior insurance experience
Experience attending arbitrations and/or trials is a plus
Compensation:
The base annual salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
