The Technical Supervisor will have daily responsibilities to include leading process technicians and technical assistants to support all departments of the facility with a focus on maximizing utilization, labor, and resources. They will ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies and support TPM and Lean processes. Supervisors train, supervise, review, discipline, and assist in hiring employees in the technical department.
Job Responsibilities:
Ø Assume full responsibility for the plastic molding activities for your assigned shift including supervision of subordinates and equipment.
Ø Direct and coordinate all process activities to ensure that molding production schedule priorities are maintained and being followed.
Ø Assign shift work assignments to Process Technicians and Technical Assistants, documenting all services such as mold changes, mold cleaning and repairs performed during the shift
Ø Ensures safe work practices and a clean working environment are maintained and hazards corrected efficiently.
Ø Maintain effective communication with team members in support of a union-free environment.
Ø Take initiative in solving problems and offering suggestions for process improvement.
Ø Take initiative in implementing and improving TPM and SMED initiatives in the technical department.
Ø Manage OEE, Scrap, Cycles, MUV, and machine utilization.
Ø Assist in the implementation and maintenance of process control.
Ø Expedites production and ensures product quality while supporting lean manufacturing.
Ø Ensure applicable reports are timely and accurate to the technical manager.
Ø Lead crew safety meetings and support safety initiatives including STOP, and SEAL in the technical department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ø Degree preferred.
Ø Proven commitment to safety and ensuring solid housekeeping initiatives.
Ø Proven ability to lead, direct, control and organize efforts in support of production.
Ø Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ø Must be able to work longer than 12 hour shifts.
Ø Excellent organization skills.
Ø Ability to become proficient on Microsoft software programs and others as necessary.
Ø Must pass post offer physical, controlled substance screen and criminal/reference background.
Ø Proven proficiency in the practical application of 5S, SMED, TPM, Visual Factory and Kaizen practices in a Manufacturing environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in Management/ Business/ Supervision.
· Prefer development towards higher levels of responsibility and accountability.
· Highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment.
· Lean manufacturing experience.
