Position summary
T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr. Engineers, Radio Frequency located in Concord, CA will provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develops processes and strategic approaches to problem solving and devises inter and intra team processes for system performance, also serves as KPI subject matter expert to improve network performance.
Lead resource for advanced monitoring and review of radio network key performance indicators (KPI) within a market. Leads, monitors, and analyzes statistical network performance data. Works with the operations team to troubleshoot complex site network problems and reviews data to determine the cause of faulty equipment.
Serves as the lead resource for coverage, capacity, and performance activities, thus defining and developing internal process used for radio network design. Provides capacity planning and growth strategies. Participates with federal, state and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance. Leads the development, testing, and validation of RF feature plan proposals. Defines implementation guidelines for approved new features and technologies.
Leads team in the application of RF principles to design/performance activities alongside as lead subject matter expert on existing / deployed technologies.
Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment.
Addresses customer and employee complaints received through information analyzer and other applications and works with RF vendors to evaluate and resolve complex issues and then updates databases with resolution or actions taken.
Conduct interference hunting at or near cell sites using bidirectional antenna and signal analyzer.
Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in:
Experience (1) Serves as a lead technical resource for the Radio Frequency Engineering design and system performance of the networks at market level.
Experience (2) Applies Radio Frequency Engineering principles to design and optimize network coverage, performance, and capacity. Leads a team of engineers and vendors on specific projects including LTE/NR(5G) spectrum carving, LTE/NR(5G) frequency retunes and network compliance towards successful delivery.
Experience (3) Serves as a technical subject matter expert and is required to do in depth Radio Frequency Network coverage and capacity analysis of existing GSM/UMTS/LTE/NR (5G) technologies, and future evolutions.
Experience (4) Leads in LTE/NR(5G) network upgrades for high capacity venues and special events end-to-end which includes Radio frequency design, deployment, implementation, testing and validation of new technology rollouts in the field.
Experience (5) Engages in problem solving and troubleshooting with advanced knowledge in Data Automation and computer skills, including with Excel macros, PowerBI, UNIX, Oracle Database, and SQL programming.
Experience (6) Mentors Radio Frequency Engineers and Associate Radio Frequency Engineers to facilitate their technical growth. Responsible for preparing presentations with audience up to Sr. leadership team.

OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. California Wage Range: $101,600.00 - $137,400.00/year.
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
