Communications Specialist, CPQCC and CMQCC
The Communications Specialist will work collaboratively to support the two multistakeholder collaborative organizations, California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) and California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC). In coordination with CMQCC and CPQCC clinical and administrative leaders, and under the direction of the Communications Manager, this position will assist with executing all communications strategies to further the missions of each organization and support quality improvement to promote and improve the health outcomes of moms and babies.
The Communications Specialist will write, edit, and design communications materials, assist with supporting the marketing of priority programs and initiatives, develop and maintain messaging and distribute reports, newsletters, event invitations and other communications to key audiences through all digital communications channels. S/he will assist with content management of the organization website and identify strategies to layout and develop content in compelling and intuitive formats.The Communications Specialist will participate in the development and/or contribute to outreach strategy related to program development, partnership, and project funding. S/he will coordinate, along with the Communications Manager, with the communications teams at the Stanford School of Medicine (SoM) and University Office of Communications. The Perinatal Programs have as their mission to transform maternity and neonatal care in California by defining, disseminating and implementing clinical best practices and quality improvement principles and techniques, and by providing quality improvement tools and strategies for clinicians to improve the outcomes for pregnant women and newborns.
Duties include:

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The pay range for this position working in the California Bay area is between $69,100 to $103,548 based on commensurate experience and background.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in communications preferred
Knowledge of electronic communication tools
Experience with website information architecture and design concepts
Ability to manage vendor evaluation and procurement process
Excellent writing and presentation skills, ability to edit scientific text and education materials to ensure clear and concise communication of concepts
Project management experience and skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively with leadership and staff on multiple, competing projects
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
·Excellent written communication skills, reporting skills, and skills in conceptual editing, copy editing, and proof reading.
·Ability to work collaboratively with internal communications groups across campus.
