Job Abstract

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a part-time Psychologist to join the Division of Child Psychiatry. You will be a member of several subspecialty care teams working with medically ill individuals and families who are in need of mental health assessment and interventions for heart or lung transplantation planning, medical non-adherence or other behavioral challenges, depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress symptoms. Primary duties include:

• Evaluating and monitoring symptoms, difficulties, and strengths/resources using interviews, questionnaires, and standardized tests
• Providing brief individual, group, and family intervention
• Working with a multi-disciplinary team
• Communicating recommendations to medical professionals, patients and families at clinic visits and in written reports
• Providing care management and support
• Providing education to others about the program services and resources
• Other duties as assigned

PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or related field
Must be licensed as a psychologist in the State of California
Prior experience developing intervention programs for child and adolescents and in managing the behavior of individuals with psychiatry disorders across the life course.
Extensive experience working with children and adolescents and their families
Ability to work flexible schedule to meet clients needs
Extensive training in a variety of psychological assessment measures
Extensive knowledge of evidence-based interventions for individuals with psychiatry disorders
Extensive experience conducting behavioral analyses and implementing behavior intervention techniques
Experience and demonstrated competence in working with multi-cultural populations
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write and edit written reports
Demonstrated ability to protect patient confidentiality, comply with all HIPAA, JCAHO, CMS and regulatory policies, procedures, requirements, etc.
