Job Abstract

The Aging Biology and Behavior Laboratory is seeking to hire Limited part-time Staff Research Associate I at 20%, 8 hours per week. In this role the Staff Research Associate I will work under the general supervision of PI of clinical research studies and the Data Core Director. the responsibilities of this role include:

• Clean and enter confidential research data involving human subjects.
• Organize and maintain research files.
• Assist with variety of research data core administrative tasks as required. Process data by reviewing and scoring. Recording variables and updating the primary database. Communicate, train, resolve UCLA Health System issues with data collection with site staff. Communicate with the PI any changes in processing procedures and issues with research performance during data collection using actigraphy watches.
• Create and use macro language in Excel and other programs.
• Assist with archiving of sleep studies & maintenance of tracking records for studies.
• Assist in ensuring supply stocks are maintained.
• In collaboration with studies Project Coordinators, review data quality after entry, monitor actigraph watch data collection for issues and repair as needed and assist with maintenance of project files.
• Train and lead work study, students, and volunteer employees.
• Train new and junior employees.
• Training includes data entry methods, data management methods, processing of any PSG, actigraphy, and sleep monitoring data

• Prior experience performing data entry required.
• Prior sleep laboratory experience required.
• Prior experience using Microsoft Windows, Excel, Powerpoint required.
• Knowledge of literature search techniques required.
• Knowledge of basic statistics required.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and subject information required.
• Ability to work under multiple deadlines and complete work in a timely manner required.
• Ability to work independently, as well as to follow instructions and to work cooperatively other staff members required.
• Degree in behavioral or physical sciences preferred.
