Job Summary
DEFINITION
Under the direction of a designee or other appropriate administrator, plan, develop, implement, monitor, and assess a comprehensive educational program for students of the Dual Immersion Spanish/English instructional program; perform other related functions as required.
Highlights of the Program
90/10 Dual Spanish/English Immersion Program
The program has a specific goal for equivalent learners of native Spanish and English speakers, and students’ dominant in English, but with bilingual families.
Seeking staff who is collaborative, innovative, and focused on providing a strong educational experience
All teachers must have fluent linguistic abilities of both Spanish and English, and hold a BCLAD credential
Individualized instruction and small group instruction are provided to meet students’ needs.
Goals of the Program
Students in this TK-5 program will learn to read, write, and speak in both English and Spanish Students will gain knowledge and appreciation of other cultures.
Students will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a caring and nurturing environment
Students will gain the lifelong skills that they will need to be a successful part of a global society
A stipend will be provided to any new fully credentialed teacher that signs a contract with the district and agrees to stay for a minimum of three (3) years. The stipend will be paid to the unit member in the following manner:
a. $1,000 to be paid within 45 days after the first day of paid contracted service.
b. $1,000 to be paid within 45 days after the first day of contractyed employment in the second year with the District.
c. $1,000 to be paid within 45 days after the first day of contractyed employment in the third year with the District.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualification for employment includes completion of online training in the following areas:
*New Employee Training
*Preventing Workplace Violence
*Bloodborne Pathogens
*Sexual Harassment
*Child Abuse/Mandated Reporter
Upon offer of employment, candidates will receive information and directions regarding this training.
Must hold a BCLAD or BCC Spanish AND a Multiple Subject Teaching credential, including courses needed to meet credential requirements and student teaching classroom experience. Interns will not be considered.

- Credential Copy (Valid Multiple Subject Teaching Credential authorizing service at the elementary level)
- English Learner Authorization (Must be a BCLAD, BASP or BCC in Spanish. If embedded in credential, then upload credential copy again and label file “English Learner Authorization”)

Comments and Other Information
Additional Salary Information:
* Upon hiring, salary placement will be determined by the number of upper division/graduate level units earned from a WASC accredited four-year college or university. Units must be earned subsequent to the date of the Bachelor's degree.
* A maximum of fifteen (15) years credit is allowed for teaching experience in a public school (K-12) or an accredited private school (K-12).
* There is a $1,000.00 Doctoral stipend.
