Oversee the operations of the Morris County Regional TB Clinic.
Manage the role of the outreach worker who works under the direct supervision of the nurse program manager as well as the PD RN.
Ensure all Morris County hospitalized patients diagnosed or suspected of TB disease receive the continuity of care during the transition from hospital to outpatient setting without interruption in treatment or essential services.
Confirm each patient receives TB care and treatment according to the published standards of care with Atlantic Health System, American Thoracic Society, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and New Jersey Department of Health Tuberculosis Program.
Submit required reports in a timely manner to the New Jersey Department of Health TB Program and Morris County Health Office including, but not limited to, the TB 70, TB 41, biannual, quarterly and monthly reports.
Document the information necessary for the TB Grant and Expenditure Reports to Atlantic Health System management. This includes clinic statistics, budget items, travel mileage reports and physician time sheets. Quarterly and yearly reports as well as yearly grant renewal to grant agency.
Ensure transmission of TB is prevented within the community through effective contact investigations and other essential activities for controlling TB, including the identification and treatment of Latent TB Infection.
Educate patients, families, health care providers and the community on Latent TB Infection, TB disease and treatment. Explain the services offered by the TB Clinic.
Facilitate referrals from NJ TB clinics, civil surgeons, outpatient facilities, public health departments and school nurses.
As a regional TB Clinic coordinate TB services with other TB Clinics and Public Health Departments. This includes but is not limited to Union, Essex, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties.
Partner with hospital departments including Nursing, Infection Prevention Respiratory Care, Radiology and the Laboratory.
Supply clear direction to the unit secretary support staff.
Coordinate with NJDH, Cardinal Health and the Health Resources Services Administration the ordering and checking of medication supplies.
Implement follow up testing on new out of country arrivals with referral exams from Panel Physicians.
Continue to facilitate programs mandated by the NJDH like United for Ukraine and Homeland Security Humanitarian Parolees.
Monitor patient’s response to TB treatment, interventions and adherence to TB program.
Manage patient care to ensure TB patients complete treatment in appropriate time frames with positive clinical outcomes.
Identify key community partners that have services which can aid TB patients.
Participate in educational and training programs offered by the TB Centers of Excellences like New Jersey Global TB Institute.
Advocate for Tuberculosis patients who deal with a disease with an ongoing negative and isolating stigma.
