MACHINE OPERATOR
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Machine Operator for a manufacturing facility based in Elmwood, LA. Our customer is a producer of food and beverage products, specializing in flexible pouch manufacturing with state-of-the-art equipment. The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting product specifications and making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
Pay Rate
$18 per hour
Schedule and Hours
2nd Shift Monday – Friday / Hours: 1:30pm – 9:30pm
3rd Shift Monday – Friday / Hours: 2:30pm – 1:00am

Machine Operator Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
- Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
- Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
- Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, fix, document, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
- Sort, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
- Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides.
- Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams.
- Start machine by engaging controls.
- Count and record finished and rejected packaged items.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Line Operator Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized procedures and adhere to safe work practices in a continuously improving environment.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Attention to safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Basic math skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Experience in making mechanical adjustment to equipment.
- Experience at running machines that package product.
- Experience with filler machines preferred.
- Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness.
- Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pounds.
- Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist.
