PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT NEEDED AT TOP BAY AREA HEALTH SYSTEM
The Pathologists' Assistant acts as a technical expert, providing assistance and direction to trainees and staff in grossing complex cancer specimens and simple benign resections.
Responsibilities include consulting with pathologists, making technical decisions, troubleshooting specimen issues, and performing full scope PA duties (e.g., lab prep, receiving, accessioning, intraoperative evaluations, gross sectioning).
The role requires interaction with laboratory directors, site managers, supervisors, and designees, and includes providing technical support to the Autopsy Service and Histology Laboratory.
Required: Bachelor's degree, graduation from a NAACLS accredited pathologists' assistant program, ASCP certification or eligibility, certification exam passage within one year if eligible.
Preferred: Fellow membership with the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants (AAPA), membership with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Master’s degree.
Compensation ranges from $98,300 to $210,300 with full-time benefits, possible relocation assistance, and eligibility for bonuses.
