Prince William County Payroll Office is looking for a dynamic individual to serve as a Payroll Senior Fiscal Analyst. This position reports to the Payroll Manager and is part of the Payroll Team who collaborates with employees across the County to pay approximately 6000 employees biweekly. The Payroll Team relies on the expertise of the Payroll Principal Fiscal Analyst to ensure accuracy of reporting, to meet all filing deadlines, and to contribute to the success of the team. About This Role: The Payroll Senior Fiscal Analyst is involved in an array of essential duties within the payroll team that includes analysis and reconciling of third party vendor payments per each payroll cycle; the receipt, analysis, entering, tracking, reconciling and submitting payment of voluntary and involuntary payroll deductions to include liens/garnishments/child support; leading the processing of the biweekly payroll; supporting the team and the team’s Oracle Subject Matter Expert when troubleshooting and/or testing is needed; performing routine daily tasks as well as special requests and projects as assigned. The ability to prioritize and work independently and as a team is essential. This position is best suited for an individual who prefers participating in a challenging, fast paced, collaborative team environment and who enjoys problem-solving and proactively planning for upcoming deadlines.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum job requirements are a High School Diploma or G.E.D and 5 years of related experience.
Preferences: The successful candidate will have: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field CPP and CPA certification Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Payroll and Virginia Retirement System Experience supporting internal customers in a specialized payroll capacity Experience resolving complex payroll issues Experience working in all aspects of payroll processing
Work Schedule: Most work is Monday through Friday, during business hours. We offer a Flexible schedule and sometimes may require work during non-standard hours. This is a telework eligible role that may revert to in-office scheduling if business needs change. Although predominantly telework, there are scheduled days in the office to meet the needs of the County and the employees of the County.
