We are currently looking for a Therapist II to join our emergency services team that provides essential crisis interventions services to the community. The Department of Community Services currently offers a $2,000.00 Program Stipend for full-time clinical positions employees that work in Emergency / Crisis Services or Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs. The program stipend will be paid out biweekly.
This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $5,000. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments as funds permit. The first installment of $2,500 is payable upon the County’s first regular pay date following your position start and the final $2,500 installment will be payable on the pay date following the completion of probation. About This Role: In this role you will do risk assessment and connect people in crisis to the appropriate level of care. Therapist IIs provide crisis intervention services with the goal of helping the person in crisis experience improvement in overall mental health. In this position you will ride in a police car with a CIT trained officer throughout the duration of their shift and respond to persons in crisis within Prince William County. Duties include but not limited to:
Provide emergency mental health intervention services in a 24/7 program.
Conduct screening interviews and makes recommendations for level of care.
Provide outreach, assessment, linkage to and coordination with other service providers.
Provide crisis intervention for clients, including those at high risk for suicide/homicide-under supervisory guidance, evaluates risk and potential need for hospitalization.
Develop and implement risk management plans.
Maintain records according to agency's policies and procedures, prepares reports.
Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
Prepare and present case presentations for clinical supervision.
Preferences:
Master's Degree in clinical psychology, social work, counseling, or a related behavioral science field.
1-2 years of experience providing clinical services to seriously mentally ill adults in a Mental Health, Substance Abuse or Emergency Program. (9 month of supervised internship is considered as 1 year of experience)
Must be eligible to obtain a LCSW or LPC in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Experience collaborating with other departments & stakeholders.
Experience working within a 24/7 program.
Experience with preadmission assessments
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license; Must pass DMV record check; Must pass TB test; Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprinted-based national criminal history record check. Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services. Work Schedule: Must be able to ride in police car for 10 or more hours per shift.
Starting Salary Range: $74,217.00 - $88,167.00
