Responsibilities: | The School of Jazz & Contemporary Music at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Music Copyist, Research Assistant. We’re looking for an energetic, creative, and responsible individual. This position reports to Professor Jane Ira Bloom and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in music composition and improvisation.
This is a SENS-UAW unit position as per the collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW, Local 7902 and the University. This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award. Work Mode: On-Campus Position Hourly Rate: $30.16 Hours per Week: As needed, up to 230 hours for the 24-25 Academic Year Responsibilities: - Music copyist work to translate handwritten music scores into music notation software.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned to support ongoing research projects and substantive academic tasks associated with course work and/or faculty research.

Minimum Qualifications: | Experienced copyist

Preferred Qualifications: | - Good communication skills
- Experience with Sibelius software
- Familiarity with Jazz notation, chord symbols, and contemporary new music notation
