Their services include fire extinguishers, alarm systems, suppression systems, SCBA, gas detection, carbon dioxide, oxygen, sprinkler systems, and so much more. Their mission is to supply life safety products and service to the industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and municipal companies in New Jersey and nearby areas.
Our client is currently seeking a Fire Alarm Project Manager for their team in South Plainfield, NJ. This is a great role for an experienced Fire Protection Field Technician who is ready for the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background in fire alarm systems and a proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion. The role of Fire Alarm Project Manager involves coordinating with clients, overseeing installation teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage fire alarm system projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
Utilize in-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems to support project needs, troubleshoot issues and ensure optimal system performance.
Ability to inspect, test, and service fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable fire codes.
Inspect Releasing and Detections Fire Panels.
Process all service paperwork timely and accurately.
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry safety standards.
Able to update and maintain information and processes in company software system (Profit Zoom).
Capable of handling on call (after-hours) emergency services work and regular hour emergency service jobs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Oversee and guide installation and technical teams, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Maintain accurate project documentation, prepare progress reports, and present updates to stakeholders.
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure necessary materials and services.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project management and technical operations.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in fire alarm system project management and technical roles.
(Fire Alarm and/or Special Hazard Technician).
Experience with Notifier.
Estimating and deficiency quoting.
Certifications: NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in fire alarm system design, installation, and maintenance. Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
Must be willing to travel throughout NJ as required to project field locations.
Compensation:
Base salary to 80k/year
