Reports To: Superintendent or his/her designee
Responsibilities: 1. Serves as a member of the district leadership team. 2. Supervises principals, designated district office supervisors, and other personnel. 3. Provide secondary Principals with technical assistance with the building's day-to-day operations to maintain continuity and consistency throughout the district, i.e., programs, schedules, student/staff assignments, timelines, state/district mandates, observations, and evaluations. 4. Provides leadership in creating, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the district's educational programs, specifically around CTE and Workforce Development, school services, and operations, and makes recommendations to the Superintendent as necessary. 5. Assures that the Secondary Educational Program is aligned, seamless, and vertically and horizontally articulated and works closely with Principals, Directors, Assistant Superintendents, other district leadership team members, and the Superintendent to achieve this. 6. Interpret the present educational program and propose instructional changes for the board, the administration, the staff, and the general public. 7. Assists the Assistant Superintendent in seeking, identifying, recommending, monitoring, and evaluating curricular and instructional initiatives to promote student engagement and further student achievement. 8. Provides leadership in district programs and initiatives, including the Character Education Program, PDP planning, NJ School Climate Platform, Restorative Practices, Sustainability, and the Labor Management Collaborative (LMC). 9. Management of secondary curriculum, instruction, program, and assessments and assisting with transition into middle school programs, instruction, and assessments. 10. Collaborates with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and other district personnel to develop and coordinate the implementation of the district's in-service education program for the instructional and support staff based on district priorities for instructional improvement. 11. Recommends teacher attendance at conferences and participation in other professional growth activities. 12. Assists with reviewing and evaluating the results of district-wide testing programs and other evaluative measures used by the schools. 13. Supervises the program to evaluate teaching staff and building administrator performance and works with the district and building administrators to improve individual staff competencies by law, code, and board policy. 14. Observe and evaluate administrators and supervisors. 15. Assures compliance with all federal and state requirements and Board policies related to this position's responsibilities. 16. Regularly provides verbal and written reports on the status of district and school-level programs and services at the request of the Superintendent. 17. Prepares drafts of needed board policies and administrative procedures for the Superintendent's review and/or board action. 18. Utilizes "best practice" research in carrying forth duties and responsibilities. 19. Assists in planning and administering an effective system for recruiting, selecting, and evaluating professional staff. 20. Actively participates in the preparation and administration of the district budget. 21. Provides leadership for district-level committees and serves as an administrative liaison to the Board committee(s) as assigned by the Superintendent. 22. Cooperates with the Assistant Superintendents, Building Administrators, and staff in planning the instructional program and support services for Willingboro Public Schools. 23. Provides creative leadership in short- and long-term planning based on experience and research. 24. Maintains a close working relationship with district administrators to ensure information exchange, coordination of efforts, and overall support for the decision-making process for feeder programs for CTE/Workforce pathways. 25. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
Physical Requirements: This job requires the following physical activities: walking, sitting, standing, reaching, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, repetitive motions, speaking, listening, and visual acuity. In addition, the individual must be able to read, count, write, operate, and use appropriate equipment, climb ladders, and lift merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
