Join our team as a Social and Behavioral Scientist II/Principal Investigator and make an impact on WRAIR’s Center for Military Psychiatry and Neurosciences (CMPN), Research Transition Office (RTO). While you help us advance the mission, we’ll help you build your skills and advance your career. RTO is comprised of a team of research scientists and support staff focused on creating evidence-based knowledge products and interventions to optimize service member readiness and performance, as well as enhance the resilience of service members, their support circles, and DoD civilians. Products developed, analyzed, and presented by the RTO are regularly used by enterprise leadership to inform doctrine, practices, education, training, and policies.
Responsibilities for this position include:
• Conducts research and development activities in support of behavioral health efforts for the military. Responsible for designing and conducting experiments and program evaluations, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and writing technical reports and manuscripts.
• Expected to travel to military installations for data collections.
• Knowledge of research design, statistical software packages, and proposal writing required.
• Knowledge of writing curriculum related to psychological resilience and generating training modules for military audiences.
• Expected to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and co-workers, assist with implementation of initiatives, and provide consultation as needed.
• Takes the lead on projects and functions as a principal investigator and is accountable for the execution of protocols.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Doctoral degree in Behavioral Science or related field and a minimum of 5+ years of related experience.
- Successfully demonstrated publication record
- Demonstrated experience working in a military environment (data, population, etc.)

The likely salary range for this position is $89,250 - $120,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
