Summary
Housing for Health (HFH) is a program office within Health Services Administration, a division under the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). This position will be providing analytical support to HFH clinical teams as they work to house and improve the health of our clients who are experiencing homelessness. HFH clinical services are provided across DHS street medicine, interim housing, permanent housing, enriched residential care, and more.
Essential Functions
- Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Development and Operationalization:
- Collaborate with clinical teams to develop KPIs and refine infrastructure needed for collecting appropriate data
- Be familiar with clinical teams’ workflows including referral, dispatch, and service provision processes
- Become a subject matter expert of the clinical team’s documentation practices and data systems utilized
- Facilitate discussions with HFH teams and/or external partners to investigate data sources and build queries for data exportation
- Data and Data Tool Management:
- Help design, build, and maintain analytical support tools to be used within the Department of Health Services and by other external stakeholders
- Conduct regular data quality assurance checks to maintain quality and consistency
- Provide training and technical assistance on data management and data tools to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Data Analysis and Strategic Reporting:
- Synthesize data from different sources to construct a comprehensive view of process and outcome metrics established by clinical teams
- Develop tailored reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, presenting key insights and metrics
- Generate ad-hoc reports that provide snapshot views of program status and support Quality Improvement (QI) projects
- Project Management:
- Convene and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to design and implement tools and reports
- Manage the design, development, implementation and maintenance of reports, dashboards and analysis tools
- Lead in designing and implementing new data-related workflows
- Program and Provider Support:
- Translate complex clinical work into easily understandable reports that accurately reflect the impact of the program and providers’ efforts
- Provide comprehensive reports and dashboards, empowering providers to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, fostering data-driven decision-making
- Management and Supervision (as needed):
- Manage the daily activities of team of between zero and two data analysts
- Ensure work is prioritized appropriately and that all deadlines are met
- Support and step in as needed to help individual team members strive for their professional goals
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate has experience working with a client-centric relational database. They are comfortable with using various tools to analyze large datasets and have taken the lead on projects where the best path forward is unclear. They are a seasoned and effective facilitator and mediator.
Education/Experience
4 or more years of highly complex administrative or supervising experience in the health, housing, social services, or related sectors.
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
- Successful clearing through the Live Scan process with the County of Los Angeles.
