GENERAL SUMMARY: Conducts and coordinates the analysis, design, integration, testing, and implementation of information systems to meet the institution’s and end-users’ requirements, and provides end-user support of our core banking system and related applications.
Position Duties & Functions: |
Maintains, troubleshoots, and configures the Symitar system. Acts as an administrator to maintain access to Symitar for users, computers and servers. Manages Symitar production, and development environments. Assists the Host Services Manager in Symitar release upgrades, service packs, data purges, and other downtime events for Host Services. |
Provides second level support to assist internal staff on problem determination and issues resolution. Creates, monitors and supports OpCon processes. Works with 3rd party vendors on issues resolution. Serves as a resource regarding incidents, problems, and reoccurring tasks related to Symitar and its complementary applications. |
Works with business units on projects and process improvements to bring out efficiencies using OpCon, Symitar, OnBase, ARCU, EDS/SDS, and other Host Services applications. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert to assist business units in making key decisions surrounding business practices and product evaluation. |
Acts as a Business Analyst to assist Project Management in planning, design and drafting of business requirements. Participates in managing project estimates, risk analysis, scope and deployment schedules. Works with 3rd party vendors on product integration. |
Manages Onbase and OpCon systems for maintenance, software upgrades, reporting, development, and testing. Works with Hyland/SMA, and lines of business, on module testing and implementations. Assists the BI Developer with ARCU and EDS/SDS administration, maintenance, development, and testing. |

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:
- 4+ years’ related experience and/or training required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science from four-year college.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualifications.
- Experience on Jack Henry’s Symitar core system, SQL query language is required.
- Experience in a Symitar EASE environment desired.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- Knowledge of relational database management systems is highly desired.
- Expert knowledge of Symitar’s SYMOP and Quest software.
- Expert knowledge of Symitar’s PowerOn programming.
- Knowledge of SMA’s OpCon and Hyland’s Onbase desired.
- Knowledge of Credit Union operations: IT, Accounting, Member Services, Operations, Lending, Audit, Marketing, Fraud, Collections, day-end, month-end and year-end.
- Detailed knowledge of Credit Union regulatory and compliance processes: Escheatment, Credit Reporting, Tax Reporting, Backup Withholding, 1042-S, Statements, Dormant Accounts, FIDM/FIRM, and Document Retention.
- Ability to write and speak effectively in English using correct spelling and grammar.
- Basic math skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages using a 10-key.
- Proficient in the use of basic applications in a Windows-based environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Moderate keyboard skills at 40 wpm.
- Excellent customer service skills.
