POSITION TITLE: Senior Network Engineer
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Infrastructure Network Specialist is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of Network and Security systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the Network and Security infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation in terms of technology and improvements in term of security. The focalization of all above, for this role, is the Corporate and Retail Network and Security Infrastructure and all the related hardware and software components. The individual works strictly and in team also with the Corporate Security Manager and related staff to ensure the consistency of applied security configuration and Security Policies, security assessment and continuous security improvement. This individual is also accountable for the Linux systems that support Guess Europe infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Engineering of Security and Network Infrastructure-related solutions for projects and operational needs. * Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. * Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and contribute to and maintain system standards. * Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale. * Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
* Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. * Perform regular security assessment to identify any possible vulnerability and fix. * Network and security troubleshooting and remediation * Perform regular configuration backups. * Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
* Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies. * Apply OS and Security patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add/ upgrade/ maintain/ perform new services as necessary, system software, periodic reporting, performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required. Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
