Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a WGS Assembly, Integration, & Test (AI&T) Lead to join our dynamic team in El Segundo, California.
This position is for WGS F11 and F12, next generation Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellite being developed for the U.S. Space Force. This position will report to the WGS Program Manager and will be responsible for managing integration and test planning, resource planning, procurement deliveries, execution to schedule, and overall assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) of the WGS Payloads, which includes the Nadir Module and the Payload Core Module.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads the execution of integration and test for an assigned satellite in accordance with customer requirements, business objectives, and Boeing processes.
- Leads project execution to complete the work statement, identify performance metrics.
- Plans and coordinates resources required over the life of the project.
- Assigns responsibility for activities to team members and ensures technical correctness and consistency of the satellite product.
- Compares actual results to the baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned.
- Identifies corrective actions to improve team performance.
- Ensures team members use established Boeing Space and Missile systems processes, procedures, and best practices as appropriate.
- Develops and maintain detailed Satellite System integration and test plans.
- Collaborates and consults with cross-functional technical teams on spacecraft development Design For Manufacture And Test (DFMAT) and process improvements.
- Works under consultative direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position is for 1st shift.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- More than 3 years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)
- More than 3 years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams.
- More than 3 years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams.
- More than 3 years of experience in Program Management or IPT Leadership including cost, schedule and technical management.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- More than 3 years of experience working directly with executives or senior leaders.
- More than 3 years of experience in systems or subsystem integration & test.
- More than 1 year of experience in system integration and test mechanical operations.
- More than 1 year of experience with cross-functional team collaboration on DFMAT.
- Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.)
