Job Duties and Qualifications
Halliburton’s Baroid Engineering team is focused on lowering our customers costs by developing the world most advanced drilling fluid measurement and processing equipment. Engineers are responsible for developing robust solutions within product specifications that adhere to Halliburton and Industry standards, while documenting designs, processes, and experimental results.
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design hardware for product changes and new development
- Collaborates in an interdisciplinary team with basic understanding of electrical systems and software development
- Familiar with instrumentation and automation in fluid processing equipment
- Independently processes data, writes engineering reports, and conducts diagnosis of routine hardware malfunctions
- Contributes to reliability analysis such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis by compiling and examining data
- Identifies the testing requirement at a system level with the emphasis on complying with test standards and Halliburton's Health, Safety, and Environment procedures
- Contributes to Halliburton's Intellectual Property portfolio by preparing Invention Disclosures and recognizing ideas that have Intellectual Property potential without disclosing confidential information
- Coordinates with project leads to produce project deliverables by assessing input requirements and applying functional specifications
- Develops relationships through excellent communication skills and acts as a key resource to provide innovative solutions
- May participate in professional societies in area of specialization
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates should have:
- High proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling software
- Experience with numerical modeling/simulation.
- Exposure to Ansys FEA/Fluent CFD
- Understanding of onshore/offshore equipment and hazardous location standards highly preferred (ATEX/IECEx)
- High degree of comfort in a hands-on work environment
- Willingness to work onsite a minimum of 10 days per month. (Hybrid subject to change)
Education requirements:
- Requires completion of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline; master's degree preferred. Requires two years of related experience (requirement may be waived with master's degree)
- Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including R&D Mechanical Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer up to the Principal Mechanical Engineer
