Under the direction of Education Leadership, acting as a liaison between BTS (Business Transformation Services) and the Education programs, provides support to Teachers, staff, and students regarding the integration of computer technology and related applications into daily learning and classroom activities.

1. Provides ongoing support to Teachers, Clinical and administrative staff, and students regarding the introduction and effective integration of technology into daily education activities,

• Assists teaching staff in identifying, locating, assessing, and utilizing instructional and assistive technology and software

• Conducts surveys, assesses, analyzes, and determines specific training needs of teaching staff in accordance with guidelines defined by National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers; may design and conduct one-on-one and group training sessions/workshops and training content, prepares training materials, tutorials, and activities, etc., to meet training objectives;

• Furthers the proficiency and knowledge of Teachers, staff, and students by maintaining and updating personal technology training methods and techniques in the latest technology trends related to special education and adaptive/assistive technology.

2. Provides support to computer technology users and performs various activities across the Bancroft Education system to ensure the coordination, implementation, currency, and optimal utilization of computer technology and adaptive/assistive technology:

Classroom Technology

• Troubleshooting of Smartboards, Trays, Markers
  • Tray connections
  • Tray controller board replacement
  • Tray replacement if needed
  • IR sensor cleaning
  • Calibration
  • Possible board replacement
• Troubleshooting of classroom projector, and connections from the projector/Smartboard to PC
  • Projector to wall connections
  • Wall to PC connections
  • Smartboard to PC Connections
• Maintenance of classroom projectors
  • Filter cleaning
  • Bulb replacements
  • Display alignment
  • Cable management
  • Warranty/replacements (Vendor involvement where needed)
• Maintenance of Smartboard
  • Calibration
  • Tray reboots
  • Cable management
• Troubleshooting of video input splitters
  • iPad to Smartboard
  • PC to Smartboard

Reoccurring Essential Training of Education Technology (Teachers, Support Staff)

• Basic Smartboard troubleshooting
• Operation and Troubleshooting of Smartboard/Device Connections - Video Splitters/Input Switchers
• Projector & AV training (Large format rooms, ie. Activity Center/Training Rooms)

Tablets

• Responsible for iPads and other campus issued tablets (Lindens/transitional)
  • General Troubleshooting
  • Warranty/Exchange
  • Enrollment of new and re-enrollment of existing devices
    • New/donated
  • App purchases
  • App installs/updates
  • MDM groups and profile management
  • Contacting, communicating, resolving issues with MDM support
  • OS maintenance, management, and updates
  • Purchasing additionals and replacements? - Through SHI
  • Purchasing of screen protectors, cases, peripherals - Through Amazon Business

General AV/Misc.

• Crestron device troubleshooting
• Common area projector/touch panel troubleshooting
  • 1st line troubleshooting/vendor contact, cabling, floor boxes, Crestron rack, audio rack in Gym
• Wired/wireless mic setups
• Events setups and breakdown
• Other duties as assigned*

Printers

• Simple Jams
• Paper Reloads
• Determining when and directing users to call Stewart

Classroom Computers & Peripherals

• Physically Broken All in Ones
  • Warranty call in and liaison to Dell/Dell tech

3. Follows state-approved emergency procedures and utilizes Bancroft-approved crisis intervention techniques at all times.

4. Serves as a role model to students by projecting a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others.

5. Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by educational program needs.

6. Abides by the Bancroft Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement in promoting ethical behavior, establishing relationships and providing guidance in decision-making situations.

7. Remains current with required training certifications, meets state-regulated licensing and regulatory accreditations, and adheres to mandatory requirements.

8. Maintains effective verbal and written communications with colleagues, those served, and their family members and/or guardians when applicable.

9. Willingly and effectively cooperates with Bancroft, The Department of Education, The Department of Human Services, The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and other licensing or state agencies or local municipalities in any inspections and investigations, upon request.

10. Maintains a safe and respectful environment, free of abuse, neglect, or exploitation; does not allow weapons, threats, bullying or intimidation.

11. Reports any violations to the appropriate individual as soon as the incident occurs.

12. Maintains levels of supervision as defined in behavior plans; e.g., Individual Program Plan (IPP), Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP), Individual Education Plan (IEP), Individual Service Plan (ISP), etc., when applicable.

Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Certification in Computer Repair and/or current CompTIA A+ certification preferred, a working knowledge of Google Apps for Business preferred and specialization in educational technology preferred. Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in information systems providing technical support in a network environment required.

Special Skills:

Effective teaching, communication, interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, organizational, and time management skills required. Knowledge of current and changing technological developments/trends in the field of special education and adaptive/assistive technology required. Knowledge of various hardware, software, and educational/training methods and techniques required, specifically in a special education setting. Operative

knowledge of various computer software packages and programs. Valid driver’s license required in incumbent’s legal name and current address with no provisional restrictions. Minimum 18 years of age required.
