Department Summary:

MITRE is seeking a qualified candidate to work as a Part Time On-Call employee providing physical security support for Badge Office operations on our campus in McLean, VA.  Hours and days scheduled would vary depending on needs but typically this position would be required as needed Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:30pm

Job Description:

BADGE OFFICE SUPPORT:

• Prepare and issue picture badges for employees, contractors, and other authorized persons for the McLean campus and sites.
• Prepare and issue other credentials as required to support different government projects.
•  Prepare access control system records and enter data into the access control database.
• Be able to conduct Security Orientation briefings for new employees, student interns, and contractors.
• Maintain the vehicle registration system, run reports as needed and follow up with employees to register vehicles.
• Maintain and update the License Plate Recognition database.
• Maintain stock of visitor and temporary badges for the lobbies and manage the badge inventories.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma.  Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• This position requires a current Final Secret clearance as a minimum.
• Current DHS Fitness Suitability or ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills are required.
• Possess strong computer skills and demonstrate the ability to effectively operate and manage security tools and processes.
• Have an understanding and knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program with experience working in a cleared facility environment.
• Possess strong communication skills in both the written and verbal format, in all delivery formats (i.e., in person, email. via telephone etc.)
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and the ability to work independently.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to provide quality customer service.
• This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years previous experience with an administrative/physical security background in a DoD cleared facility.
