Job Abstract

The UH Geauga Regionals Medical Center Cath Lab is a small group of dedicated cardiac professionals who enjoy the challenge of treating cardiac, peripheral, and interventional Radiology procedures. EP pacemaker and ICD implants are also done in our Cath lab. Plenty of variety! Our team enjoys caring for these patients at some of the most stressful times in their lives. If you enjoy a fast-paced work environment with lots of opportunity to grow and learning opportunity, the Cath Lab is for you! Continuous education, in-services, and shadowing over a minimum 3-month period are priority before you would be placed on call, insuring your confidence and that of your team mates. Cardiac Cath Lab RNs work closely with our techs and may scrub, circulate, or monitor cases rotating as necessary.

We provide the option of either 5-8 hour shifts or 4-10 hour shifts, with no weekend or holiday requirements except for on-call coverage.

A Brief Overview

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

What You Will Do

• Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.
• Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
• Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

• Other Accredited Program Diploma in Nursing or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License Upon Hire (Required) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire or must be obtained during nursing orientation (Required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on clinical area standards.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on clinical area standards.
