ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Network Engineer III with active SECRET clearance. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.
Join our dynamic team, where you will be crucial in designing, testing, upgrading, and integrating various information networks, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, VoIP, intranets, and extranets, aligning with organizational needs. They will document the engineering process, coordinate network changes, and implement security measures to ensure network integrity. Additionally, they will conduct network modeling and analysis, evaluate emerging technologies, assist with troubleshooting, and handle operational tasks for deployed networks

Description of Daily Duties:
- Support to internal teams and Federal Agency on management of VMWare, VCenter, Active Directory, vSAN, DHCP, Windows DNS.
- Design and engineer MS Windows-based server architectures, both physical server environments on-prem as well as cloud-based server environments.
- Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, File Servers, robust server/workstation patching environment, centralized print services, web, database and application server design/engineering and support.
- Skilled in requirements gathering to support design/implementation efforts with customers, app developers, etc.
- Knowledge in designing for zero-trust server environments. Citrix thin client and zero client environment design and support.
- Experienced with Data In Transit (DIT) and Data At Rest (DAR) practices and actual implementation.
- Design and planning of periodic infrastructure upgrade/refresh activities to include development of detailed bills of material and life-cycle cost analysis.
- Provision of new sites using Enterprise standards.
- Monitor systems performance and take steps to ensure optimal performance.
- Understanding of network technologies and standards
- Resolve issues related to Virtual Infrastructure
- Respond to escalated incidents and service requests from Delivery/Operations Teams
- Coordinate planned maintenance activities, coordinate/facilitate planned/unplanned service outages, and ongoing project-related support activities.
What are we looking for?
Must have
- Strong systems engineering skills with on prem VMWare, vSAN, and virtualization
- Active Secret or higher clearance
- Strong skills with Windows Server 2019 and 2022
- Strong skills in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, event logging, troubleshooting and daily operational task
- Strong skills with hardware server platforms (HP and Dell)
- Strong skills in leading an engineering team, facilitating projects, tasks, and guiding a team in all aspects
- Strong skills at creating documentation processes and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with peers, management (contracts and government), and tier 1 & 2 personnel
Desired Skills
- Hands on experience using MECM
- Working knowledge with ATO process, POAMs, and security tools
- Working knowledge of routing and switching as it pertains to building Windows environments
- Experienced in Azure Cloud and migrating from on prem to Azure
