Corporate Partnerships Manager
Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $69,000 to $73,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
Candidates are also eligible for uncapped sales commissions in additional compensation in first-year sales.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager is a key member of the Corporate Partnerships team and leader within the Sales side of the organization. This role is responsible for generating significant new business partnerships across the portfolio of assets available to Katella Avenue Partners. The Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for driving revenue through prospecting, pipeline management, strong relationships and contract negotiations resulting in the successful completion of multi-year partnerships. with a key focus on regional and national bands. This role works with brand decision makers and C-suite level executives and must possess a passion for sales. This role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and team members as a leader within the Corporate Partnerships department.
Responsibilities
Drive new business sales goals within KAP Portfolio- including Anaheim Ducks, Honda Center, The Rinks and Great Park Ice, Anaheim Ducks Foundation, ARTIC
Develop a prospect sales pipeline ensuring ongoing opportunities to bring new partners to the organization
Develop a substantial list of contacts and connections within the regional and national corporate communities
Serve as an expert within the Corporate Partnerships team on negotiation of complex partnerships and business arrangements that benefit the partner, our fans and the organization
Responsible for creating significant, multi-year partnerships in the most significant sponsorship categories (i.e. Automotive, Airline, Insurance, etc.)
Work in conjunction with the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Director of Corporate Partnership Sales to develop and onboard new Corporate Partners
Negotiate legal terms in partnership with legal counsel
Communicate with internal and external staff to ideate and develop key assets and strategic marketing platforms that can be monetized through partnerships
Collaborate successfully with Partnership Activation to ensure that clients receive superior service, all contractual assets are fulfilled, and any future strategic initiatives are considered
Responsible for ongoing high-level comprehension of complex business topics (i.e. cryptocurrencies, payment processing, sports betting) to successfully create market leading partnerships
Focus on a continued understanding of the sponsorship industry, key trends, developing categories and best practices
Participate in industry related events and associations that will enable the organization to be connected within the industry and understanding of new trends and opportunities
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Minimum of three years of proven corporate partnership experience, preferably in the sports and entertainment business industry
Proven track record in pitching, negotiating, and closing multiple substantial multi-year partnerships
Proven history of working with Fortune 500 brands and agencies to create partnerships Adapt selling style and technique to organizational priorities and business needs
Expertise in social media, digital, TV, radio, community and marketing platforms, assets, and valuations
Experience in creating partnership proposals to ensure clarity and accuracy
Outstanding written and verbal communication skill ensuring asset alignment, analytics and storytelling are incorporated into all new sales pitches
Track record of navigating unforeseen obstacles with successful results
Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit and drive to the best
Host and entertain corporate partners and prospects at games and events
Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM
Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
Able to work well within a team sales environment
Able to multi-task- ability to establish effective client and interdepartmental relationships, manage multiple client contacts, projects, proposals, and drive business
Able to manage the sales timelines to ensure that deadlines are met
Able to manage communication to ensure internal stakeholders are aware of partnership commitments and deadlines
