Job Summary
This position assists the East Asian librarian and Collections & Resource Services staff with detailed processing of library materials (books, AV, etc.) in at least one of the three languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and other miscellaneous department-assigned duties.
Responsibilities
To attend to the duties described in the Job Summary section with attention to detail.
Qualifications
Language requirement: Ability to read/understand/transliterate at least one of the three languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean), familiar with Romanization systems in CJK language.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Willing to learn new detail-oriented skills and programs.
Must be punctual, dependable, self-motivated, and courteous to other staff members.
Some job duties may require the applicant to be physically able to perform physical duties including frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs/library step stools, pulling, typing, prolonged standing or sitting. Prolonged computer screen time will be required at times as well.
