Are you ready to take on a pivotal role as a Purchasing Junior Buyer at our esteemed food processing plant? Located in Jurupa Valley, CA, this position offers a unique opportunity for individuals fluent in both English and Spanish to excel in the purchasing department.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: $22 per hour (depending on experience)
As a Purchasing Junior Buyer at our local food processing plant, you will work under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, overseeing inventory integrity, including product rotation and the procurement of raw and packaging materials. Your role will involve day-to-day purchasing activities for ingredients and packaging materials, ensuring compliance with all Food Safety/SQF requirements related to the purchasing department.
Responsibilities:
Monitor inventory and manage the ordering process for raw materials and packaging components based on the weekly production schedule.
Review action messages and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of required materials and services.
Collaborate with the Supervisor to control costs, purchase price variances, and ensure product availability and quality.
Evaluate and adjust reorder levels and on-hand inventory to minimize stock shortages.
Maintain accurate records, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor files.
Coordinate documentation requests with the Quality Department and suppliers to support company initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
Facilitate effective communication between Suppliers, Warehouse, Planning, Manufacturing, and other relevant departments to optimize efficiency.
Adhere to company policies and standards, including attendance, safety, food safety/SQF, GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, and CCPs.
