Position Summary:

The Office Development and Alumni Engagement is seeking candidates for a Annual Giving Officer role. Reporting to the Director II, Strategy and Campaign Initiatives, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of prospective donors at annual giving levels. The Annual Giving Officer will be responsible for executing the engagement and cultivation of individuals in his/her assigned prospect pool. They will be expected to prepare well-written call reports and will work closely with the Associate Vice President for Development to develop a pipeline of major gift prospects.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in fundraising, preferably in higher education or a similar setting. They will be responsible for cultivating an assigned portfolio of approximately 150 annual giving prospects with the ability to move to major gift donors.

Note: Travel via car, train and airplane with occasional overnight lodging may be required.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage a donor/prospect portfolio of annual giving prospects who have the ability to become major donors.
• Make personal visits and other contacts in order to qualify and cultivate prospective donors.
• Work with the Director of Strategy and Campaign Initiatives to implement prospect strategies for engaging and cultivating prospects in the life of the College.
• Build relationships with donors and coordinate engagement activities with the Director.
• Develop and maintain thorough working knowledge of TCNJ and its vision, mission and strategic plan in order to effectively articulate the College’s priorities and fundraising objectives to donors.
• Document all activity in the institutional advancement database (Raisers Edge – NXT).
• Assist the Director of Development in the overall strategy for building a culture of philanthropy at the college, developing and recommending goals, policies, and procedures that comply with the overall goals of the college and the Division of College Advancement.
• Attend college-sponsored events as appropriate.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of three years in development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using the Raiser’s Edge database or similar CRM systems.
• Experience working in an annual giving program within higher education.
• Strong organizational and communication skills and a clear, concise writing style.
