Responsibilities The Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center, more commonly known as the ‘HOPE Center,’ is a newly constructed, state of the art, 16-bed, Psychiatric Health Facility, serving the acute psychiatric needs of the community in concert with the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services. The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center operates on 8-hour shifts plus a 30 minute meal break. Per Diem employees will be required to give the following availability for continued employment: Minimum 1 shift per week (M-F) 2 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) per month (weekend shifts will not count towards weekday shift requirements) Three holidays per year, one of which must be Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day This is an availability expectation which may not result in actual worked hours. If unable to provide these minimum hours, the per diem staff may be terminated unless an agreement is made with the staff member and the manager/supervisor on availability. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Preferred Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the California State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training (provided in-house), including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in a restraining process. Must pass a medication administration exam and complete a basic developmental competency exam.
