Job Abstract

Facilities Handyman for a manufacturing company located in Santa Ana CA. this position is 100% onsite. Ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, good management skills and a sense of urgency.

Long-Term Temporary position with hours starting 6am or 7am for an 8 hour shift, Monday-Friday. Pay $18-20/hr depending on experience. Steel-Toed Work boots required. Company will complete drug screen and background check prior to start.

The Facilities Handyman is responsible for proper maintenance and upkeep of the general facility, including but not limited to office spaces, manufacturing shop floor, and common area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by
  cutting, trimming, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
- Assist with repair minor plumbing and painting repairs.
- Perform low level repairs or installations
- Perform basic janitorial functions, when required, but not limited to:
  o Collect and dispose of facility trash (office and factory)
  o Collect and dispose of machine/ equipment wastes (metal chips)
- Report/Communicate safety hazards, emergencies, and unusual situations
  immediately
- Load and unload various chemical drums when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
High school diploma or General education diploma (GED)
Min 2-3 years of experience as general handyman/maintenance experience.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
Experience with Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
Must be able to read and interpret chemical Safety Data Sheets (SOS)
Adheres to company established safety rules and regulations
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must be able to maintain an acceptable level of job / task productivity
Must have a positive work attitude
 

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
