Job Summary

Handles moderate to complex contract agreements and related documentation in accordance with established subcontract policies and procedures. Requires independent judgment for issues. Works closely with senior contracting staff.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and Battelle policies. Drafts, develops, negotiates and administers contractual agreements for assigned programs.
- Coordinates proposal issues requiring the expertise of other groups, proposes solutions to problems encountered in negotiations and assists in solving problems that may arise during contract performance. Supports negotiation of agreements of moderate complexity, as required. May act as the client interface during negotiations of low to moderate complexity.
- Analyzes requests for proposals from general policy, business, financial, contractual and risk perspectives. Contributes to the development of the general proposal and/or contracting strategy.
- Assists in the development of business strategies in partnership with internal clients.
- Ensures all required proposal reviews, concurrences and approvals are obtained before a proposal is submitted to a client.
- Reviews proposal and contracting data entered into company system(s) for completeness and accuracy.
- In conjunction with other business support staff, responds to unusual or potential business and contractual performance problems and makes recommendations for corrective action.
- Assists in Contract Closeouts, including document closeout, management and development of reports for department and internal client review.
- Assists more senior staff in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes.
- Contributes on cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor\u2019s degree; five years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
- Working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures. Working knowledge of contracting concepts, Federal Acquisition Regulations and/or Uniform Commercial Code, applicable international contract law, or public contract acquisition law and regulations. Ability to draft contractual instruments in accordance with prescribed templates and guidelines.
