Posting Summary | Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Programmer Analyst IV for the Office of Information Technology-Enterprise Application Services (OIT-EAS).
The Application Programmer will report to the IT Director of the Web Consulting Services (WCS) team within the OIT-Enterprise Application Services department and works in an auxiliary team environment on projects that will vary in scope, complexity and impact. The position is responsible for gathering business requirements, documentation, design, implementation, testing, monitoring, maintenance, and end-user support for all systems supported by the team. This position will also perform other related duties as assigned.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: - Participates in the development of detailed programming/system specifications. Interfaces with users and other departments to identify system problems and propose solutions.
- With the guidance of a technical lead this person will perform analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging, and documentation of UI/UX front-end/mobile programs to solve medium to complex business problems. Applies conversions and enhancements to business systems.
- Performs testing of functionalities, issues fixes and enhancements in the system when it undergoes updates/patching; Identifies and documents work around solutions. Logs service request/ticket with the software provider or for the technical team to improve efficiency and/or for addressing issue/bug identified.
- Stays relevant and effective in an evolving technologies landscape. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in technology and considers how they may be used to solve challenges in our department. Also, consults with other senior staff members regarding the implementation and use of the various technologies available within the department.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers’ regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

Work Arrangement | Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
