Overall Focus: The Box Office Assistant is designed for applicants who are interested in learning the fundamentals of customer service and becoming knowledgeable of the Glitnir Ticketing System.
General Responsibilities:
Work closely with our Marketing, and Ticketing Department on group selling elements of home games and event promotions, season ticket sales and service, individual game ticket sales, and ticket marketing initiatives.
Maintain strong communication between Sales Department and Marketing/Ticketing Department in regards to ticket initiatives and programs, group sales and sales tracking.
Learn about and create new reports to be generated from the data management system.
Coordinate season, group, and individual ticket accounts.
Gain knowledge and understanding of the Blue Crabs organization to best assist both Blue Crabs patrons and employees.
Generating new ticket sales revenue will be encouraged and support will be given in order to be successful with sales efforts.
In Season Responsibilities
Receive and process individual game ticket orders over the phone, via the internet and through walk-up
Up-sell individual game purchasers to season ticket plans
Assist the ticket office personnel with miscellaneous duties.
Answering telephone calls, responding to emails, calling customers, participating in meetings, etc.
Cash handling responsibilities
Will Call ticket processing
Assist in the supervision of Box Office event staff
Manage nightly ticket stub counts
Assist in nightly reconciliation
Assist with general front office management issues as needed
Assist as requested in other departmental areas and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
BA/BS (Business, Marketing, Communications preferred but related experience will be considered).
Ability to work nights, weekends, and outside events as needed.
Effective telephone and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to highest level of customer service.
Compensation
This is a College Credit Unpaid Internship. The intern will be required to work all 2024 Blue Crabs Home Games as well as select non-gamedays as well.
