As an Appliance Repair Assistant, you’ll help with the diagnosis and repair of appliances and other equipment. This entry-level role, known internally as a Cadet, is a great opportunity to begin your career with Geek Squad. You’ll have the chance to increase your skills through training and on-the-job opportunities.
What you’ll do
Assist with home repair service calls.
Assist with diagnosis and repair of appliances in customers’ homes (e.g., washers, dryers, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, microwaves and refrigerators)
Assist with providing accurate pricing estimates for repairs
Help manage inventory and vehicle maintenance
Help maintain company vehicle and equipment cleanliness and organization
Provide feedback and training to store teams and assist with in-store repairs
Basic qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old
Current, valid driver’s license
Have and maintain a driving record which meets Best Buy safety standards (e.g., minimal number of violations/accidents, etc.)
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights and weekends
Ability to lift 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations and up to 150 pounds with help
Preferred qualifications
6 months of experience with appliance repair service
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Effective problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills
