Position Summary:
Claire Trevor School of the Arts is UCI’s center for innovative, creative engagement in art in all of its facets: production, critique, appreciation, and development. The School’s work focuses on creativity—but not just on creativity: our mission integrates all levels of education (from B.A. and B.F.A. to M.F.A. to Ph.D.) with arts advocacy and leadership, engagement with social and cultural issues, and partnerships with individuals and organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. The Dean's Office in the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine seeks a highly motivated, effective communicator with strong administrative skills and attention to detail to provide analytic support and exceptional customer service in the areas of Academic Personnel and Human Resources to the Director of Personnel, faculty, staff, students, programs and initiatives. As a member of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, the incumbent is tasked with upholding and exemplifying excellence in the University’s core competencies-- job mastery, goal accomplishment, enterprise contribution and innovation- while representing the Dean's Office and the school to the campus.
Reporting to the Director of Personnel, under minimal direction, the Senior Personnel Analyst is responsible for providing direction, review, and oversight of assigned personnel functions for senate and non-senate faculty, other academic employees, career staff, limited employees and student workers in the Claire Trevor School of the Arts. The School is comprised of 4 departments, 81 senate faculty members, approximately 50 Unit 18 Lecturers, 50 career staff, 50 student employees, and approximately 10 non-senate academic appointments. Responsibilities include academic recruitment, appointments, merit reviews, promotions, salary and benefits issues, sabbaticals, grievances, equal opportunity and affirmative action issues, layoffs, compensation, payroll entry utilizing UCPATH, training and development. Serves as a resource to senior leadership, faculty and staff and functions as liaison to various campus offices.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $73,900.00 - $88,850.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $73,900.00 - $133,700.00 (Annual Salary).
Required:
- 2-5 years in human resources and/or academic personnel administration.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Requires thorough knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic and staff HR.
- Thorough knowledge of organization and college goals, priorities and values and the legal and human implications of decisions.
- Thorough knowledge of systemwide and organization policies, union contracts, procedures and practices that govern academic and staff HR administration.
- Knowledge of trends in academia, especially in areas of academic planning, human resource management and administration.
- Ability to analyze complex management issues, develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice to senior officials, and make critical decisions regarding personnel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses.
- Demonstrated skill to assess priorities in order to complete work in a timely manner in an environment of deadline constraints, competing priorities and heavy and changing workload.
- Proven ability to utilize the online UC PATH system, to interpret compensation and the ability to analyze pertinent information recorded in the UC Path reports.
- Positive work attitude, willing to work as a cooperative and collaborative team member.
- Demonstrated experience working with confidential information and using sensitivity, tact and discretion in internal and external communications.
