EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Application Development Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located in our Gaithersburg, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, develop, test, document, and implement high-performance, real-time/embedded software applications for high availability scalable satellite communication systems.
• Review system requirements and designs. Implement software applications passing through all stages of development.
• Analyze and resolve software issues and participate in the development and maintenance of software documentation.
• Present project objectives, risks, success criteria, and detailed status reports to the management team.

Basic Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Information Science & Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field plus 6 months’ experience in software applications or Bachelor’s degree in Information Science & Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in software applications.
• Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: C/C++; Shell; Python; Linux; Multi-threaded application development; Inter-process communication; Object-oriented design and development.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
