High Road Academy of Howard County is currently seeking a qualified applicant for an Assessment Coordinator. High Road Academy of Howard County is an MSDE approved nonpublic program for students with specific learning disabilities (grades 3-12). All students attending High Road Academy of Howard County have Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that include intensive academic needs in reading, math, and written expression. Classes consist of one teacher and one assistant teacher for up to ten students.
Job Purpose:
The Assessment Coordinator will manage the development, implementation and administration of a comprehensive program of academic assessments for the purpose of evaluating students' progress and present levels of performance. The Assessment Coordinator will also serve as School Test Coordinator for state and district-wide assessments.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
· Work with instructional staff, support staff and administration with a focus on producing favorable academic outcomes and a positive school climate.
· Create and manage school-wide assessment calendar.
· Work with administration to assign or delegate specific assessment duties.
· Attend district and statewide training sessions.
· Coordinate with technicians to set up testing requirements for any online assessments.
· Facilitate any required assessment training, handling of testing materials, scheduling of testing locations, and ordering of testing materials.
· Establish and maintain student forms and files as required school, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
· State and district reporting requirements associated with assessment data.
· Work with administration to identify professional development needs associated with assessment and data analysis.
· Work with administration to schedule professional development on in-service days throughout the school year.
· Provide professional development training when appropriate.
· Attend and document conferences/meetings/trainings with Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required by school, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
· Conduct progress monitoring.
· Participate in IEP meetings, as needed.
· Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely manner.
· Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must understand that all children can learn. Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude towards internal and external customers. Must be flexible. Must be available to work during the summer months.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in related field. Teaching experience preferred.
