Space and Counterspace Modeling and Simulation Analyst
Key Role:
Support client efforts to build an adaptable software prototype to exercise, adapt, and analyze space and counterspace scenarios. Maintain responsibility for troubleshooting, modifying, executing, and extending existing models as necessary, interpreting results, identify meaningful parameters, and recommend modifications or courses of action based on findings and present results to seniors in a combination of oral, written, and PowerPoint presentation formats as necessary. Analyze requirements, research system technical details, trace existing models in the language provided to understand the function and capability, determine strengths and limitations of tools and analyses available, and identify necessary upgrades, additional tools, or new functions and tools required to support analysis tasks. Provide a deep understanding of space systems and dynamics to include launch, orbital operations, missiles, and orbital weapons. Leverage programming expertise in MATLAB and other programming languages and merge models into simulations. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise with full industry knowledge.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience doing modeling and simulation
- 3+ years of experience using Systems Modeling Language (SySML)
- 2+ years of experience with programming MATLAB, Python, C/C++, FORTRAN 90, AFSIM scripting, or TPL SEAS
- Knowledge of space systems and operations such as orbital mechanics, launch operations, trajectories, and space domain awareness
- Knowledge of counterspace systems and operations such as missiles, directed energy, and orbital weapons
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a diverse team focused on the accomplishment of common production objectives
- Ability to convert a minimal verbal or written space scenario description and build an adaptable software prototype to exercise, adapt, and analyze the scenario
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Physical Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operational Research, or Computer Science
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working in special access program and special access required environments
- Knowledge of Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) software
- Knowledge of Systems Tool Kit (STK) or similar software
- Knowledge of current counterspace threats
- Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
