Job Summary:

The Director of Institutional Research and Planning provides oversight and coordination forthe College's institutional research initiatives that support and inform campusdecision-making. The Director will manage an office thatfacilitates the use of data and analysis for institutional planning,assessment, and effectiveness; prepare reports and surveys to ensure compliancewith federal and state reporting obligations; and support institutional andprogram accreditation requirements. Thisrole coordinates with the senior leadership of the University to supportstrategic planning, internal decision making, and external accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with diverse groups of individuals at all levels within and outside the institution and to provide exceptional customer service.
Coordinate mandatory reporting of data to external agencies (IPEDS, state reports, etc) and respond to ad-hoc requests for summary data from the campus community.
Gather quantitative and qualitative data from various information sources; organizing, analyzing, and presenting information to key stakeholders in a clear and effective manner.
Organize, prioritize, and lead multiple projects to successful completion and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate the ability to maintain attention to detail as well as an understanding of broader perspectives.
Supervise internal and external reporting requirements to meet publication and submission deadlines, ensure data completeness and accuracy, and build and maintain relationships with departments and offices.
Provide direction and administrative oversight to the Office of Institutional Research and Planning staff.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences, education, economics, statistics, or other quantitative oriented discipline required.
Three years of progressively more responsible research experience, preferably in areas related to education, government, public policy, not-for-profit organizations, applied research, or financial analysis preferred.
Required Skills for Position:
Proven project management, organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and time-management skills.
Knowledge of research design, statistical analysis, and the ability to interpret data.
Ability to develop accurate and functional reports, charts, and graphs, through SPSS, Microsoft Excel or other statistical software.
Ability to implement and analyze national surveys (NSSE, Ruffalo Noel-Levitz, etc.).
Ability to clearly and accurately communicate orally, and in writing, complex and/or technical information to audiences of varying educational levels.
