As the Optima Solutions Coatings Equipment Specialist, you will responsible for coordinating the design, installation and troubleshooting of coatings applications process equipment. You will offer technical guidance in the operation coatings equipment systems including the development and update of work manuals for the same.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical guidance for PPG Facilities on Applications Equipment & New Technology Application equipment including suggested operation for PPG Spraylab Facilities.
- Use research from equipment manufacturers for comparative evaluation of customer systems versus PPG systems, recommend technical guidance or improvement.
- Coordinate equipment updates for Coatings/Topcoat application process equipment requirements for PPG facilities worldwide.
- Develop ongoing relationships PPG technical teams, marketing teams, technology launch coordinators, customer and PPG customer site field support. Maintain PPG technologies through process equipment evolution or advancements. Keep PPG technologies matched with new equipment trends through PPG internal updates of engineering market advancements. Share data with Manufacturing & Technical to provide continuous improvement to laboratory development cycles and quality assurance product testing.
- Work with PT/ED/Topcoat Process Engineers on New Applications Technologies and Processes. Support any Commercial or “Paid For” activity at ADC/EDC sites and equipment needed for launch activities. Provide application equipment expertise when called upon.
- Address problems and present logical arguments with data in problem resolution.
- 35-50% travel domestic and international
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other technical disciplines OR 5+ years of experience in Automotive Coatings related Topcoat process technology or equipment/systems
- Read and develop Coatings Process drawings or prints including, mechanical, electrical, and piping systems as related to coatings process equipment systems.
- MS Office, AutoCAD or other Engineering drawing software
