Position Description:
Valley Medical Group is seeking an Inpatient Pediatrician. Pediatrician willcare for children ages 0-18 years and provide pediatric inpatient services inaccordance with the policy regarding PCCM/Hospitalist Division of Coverage ofFloor Patients, as may be amended from time to time. Pediatrician will provideemergency care for patients in Intensive Care Nursery and newborns in Labor andDelivery prior to the arrival of the neonatologist. Pediatrician will beresponsible for the care of clinic newborns, newborns without a pediatrician inthe area, or newborns with no previously chosen pediatrician. Pediatrician willattend cesarean section deliveries of clinic patients, deliveries of privatepatients, and all high-risk vaginal deliveries >34 weeks. Respond totelephone calls from Clinic patients. Pediatrician will provide pediatricconsultations, at the request of the Pediatric Emergency Room physician, asneeded. Participate in departmental and assigned Hospital committee meetings.Always demonstrates and models service excellence behavior and leads effortsfor monitoring and improving patient/family experience. Responds with concern,cooperation, and respect. Establishes cooperative working relationshipswith all individuals with whom contact is made. Delegates clinical tasksappropriate to the level of training of each staff member. Ensures theprofessional development of self and team. Work on clinical projects andinitiatives at the request of the VMG Chair of Children Services. Typical workschedule is at least three (3)- twelve (12) hour shifts per week.

EDUCATION:
Position requirement:
• M.D or D.O from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy from arecognized institution
• Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• A valid New Jersey State Medical license, DEA, and CDS isrequired.
• BLS, PALS required and ACLS preferred
• Maintains CME credit hours as required for BoardCertification and/or hospital staff privileges.
