Overview
The Princeton AI4ALL program seeks a residential counselor for summer 2024.
Residential Counselors provide supervision of participants for all program activities and residential experiences. The counselors will support the academic day as needed. During the late afternoon and evening, Residential Counselors will lead supplementary program events such as sports and games, arts and crafts, campus and local excursions, etc. Weekends may include field trips and other organized activities, supervised by the Residential Counselors.
The hourly rate for the position is $22.91/hour. Total compensation for the duration of the program is expected to be $2750.
Three meals a day are provided starting with lunch onJuly 12thand ending with lunch onAugust 3rd.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Residential Counselors position include:
- Leading afternoon, evening, and weekend recreational and social activities
- Building strong and healthy residential learning communities that enhance participant academic progress and success
- Creating an atmosphere that fosters social growth as well as tolerance, cultural sensitivity, and understanding of individual differences
- Addressing the range of participant needs and taking appropriate action when participants are sick or injured
- Enforcing the rules of the program to keep all participants safe
- Assisting with program set-up, closing and breaking down residence
The dates of employment areJuly 14th-August 3rd, 2024, with training onJuly 12th. Residential Counselors are required to live in residence for the full duration of the program. Vacation time is unavailable.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled undergraduate student in good standing preferred
Prior experience working with minors
Must be available to live and work at Princeton University (Princeton, NJ) from July 12th - August 3rd
