The Student Experience Coordinator is part of the Campus Activities team and reports to the Assistant Director of Campus Activities, Campus Activities plays a key leader within USC Student Life and the University. The Campus Activities department has a significant impact on the student experience for a campus of 49,500 students and is responsible for the advisement of Undergrad and Graduate Student governments, including their assemblies; overseeing the recognition process and success of over 1000 student organizations; and large-scale events including Late Night SC, Student Game Day Experience programs, the Trojan Welcome Experience, Grad Week, and Volunteer programs.
The Division of Student Life has been called upon to create a robust student experience. The overall student experience will be expanded to engage a larger audience this year with an eye to helping students transition to campus, learn the resources, and find community. One integral part of the student experience is the activities and programs designed to help students make connections, especially as they begin their time at USC.
Position Overview and Description:
The Student Experience Program Coordinator role will assist Campus Activities and the Division of Student Life in the development and implementation of student engagement activities and supervising a team of assistant coordinators. The coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating student programs, advising student government’s programming groups, implementing programs for Late Night SC, Student Game Day Experiences (tailgates), Grad Week, Trojan Welcome Experience and Signature events (Thanksgiving and Winter Luncheons).
Roles & Responsibilities:
Organize, coordinate, and assess student programs, USC Student Experience, and activities for Campus Activities.
Implement activities aimed at providing a robust student experience that are tied to Late Night SC and Campus Activities.
Works collaboratively with campus partners to leverage and expand programming opportunities for the USC Trojan Welcome Experience.
Lead programs and projects as assigned for the overall student experience.
Supervise full-time employees, undergraduate and graduate students.
Manage the day-to-day operations of Student Government programming committees.
Advise students on issues related to policy interpretation, conflict resolution, contract negotiation, and budgeting.
Assist with long-term planning, goal setting, and policy development for the organization.
Approve and reconcile programming expenditures related to areas of oversight.
Participate on various Division of Student Life committees as assigned such. Represent Campus Activities on the Events Committee.
Serve as an active member of the Campus Activities team assisting with the creation and implementation of large projects and student facing initiatives.
Connect with campus partners and Big Ten counterparts as required.
Support the overall mission and goals of the division, department, and program initiatives within Student Life and Campus Activities.
Frequent night and weekend work required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Experience: 2 years
Field of Expertise: Student personnel administration
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree
Experience: 3 years in college student program planning and management
Field of Expertise: Understanding and knowledge of event management and student affairs

The annual base salary range for this position is $66,560-$68,000.
