Laboratory Technician – Oklahoma City, OK

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for one of our clients, a testing, inspection and certification company, located in Oklahoma City, OK.

As a Laboratory Technician you will regularly operate laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, food homogenization equipment, pipetting tools, incubators, water baths, hot plates, and autoclaves. The lab technician performs analyses and reports accurate and timely data according to Laboratory Operating Procedures and testing methodologies.

Job Duties

Media Preparation (60%)
• Preparation and sterilization of culture media
• Proper labeling, storage, and disposal of solutions and media
• Accurate documentation of all solutions and media prepared using Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Maintenance and verification of general laboratory equipment
• Daily monitoring of the DI water system
• Daily monitoring of sterilization units
• Managing time and tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent quality of work
• General housekeeping duties
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Sample Preparation (40%)
• Aseptically handles samples and performs analyses according to operating procedures and test methodologies
• Maintains and verifies equipment
• Reports non-conformances to the supervisor or manager
• Maintains records of all quality activities as documented in operating procedures and test methodologies
• General housekeeping duties
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

 Qualifications
• Associates degree (A.A./A.S.) or higher
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to routinely lift 20-30 pounds and be comfortable with handling hot liquids.
• Experience with Windows PC and Microsoft Office
• Able to calculate basic math

• Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00am-5:30pm
  

• Pay Rate: $15-18 per hour dependent upon level of education and experience
